ship of fools.

Ship of Fools is a multi disciplinary theatre piece. Puppetry, live music and strong visual design combine to break open, and shed light on, the well established tradition of pathologizing women. Created, designed and directed by Jessica Scott, Ship of Fools invites the audience on a dream-like voyage that unpicks our current, warped perception of the feminine 'other'.

Ship of Fools was produced by HERE Arts Center as part of their Artist Residency program. It premiered October 2016.

Rosa Douglas worked as a puppet maker on the project helping to realise Jessica's artistic vision.

She fabricated the miniature turntable scene (above) and helped to create the sculpted body forms for the sea dresses.
